A total refurb of this 1950s property saw the creation of a wonderfully light and airy kitchen.

The architects opened up the internal entrance to the kitchen and installed large glazed sliding doors to the garden, flooding the space with light. A run of tall cabinets features a combination of elm-veneered drawers and grey matt lacquer doors, colours that respond to the light whilst also providing warmth. Bespoke fluted timber doors, which lead to the utility and other rooms, are beautifully juxtaposed with the sleek feel of the kitchen doors.

The island is designed to bring family and friends together. Its quartz worktop, with matching mitred waterfall end panels, houses a Bora X Pure Cooktop induction hob – the perfect way to cook without the interference of an extraction hood. The prep area beyond utilises the same 750mm deep quartz worktop and includes a Quooker tap has been installed. The fluted stone splash backs are recessed into the wall, a level of detail that provides a real wow factor.
