Part of the architect’s brief was to make the island look like the final step of the floating staircase that descends from the mezzanine floor. Matt black soft-touch lacquered base units hug the AGA range cooker, finished with Caesarstone stone top and splash back, which provides a striking contrast in a predominantly white space. The pocket oak door conceals a small utility room containing a Quooker tap and larder fridge, helping to retain a sleek and minimalist feel.
